/September 2017 #RheumChat Recap: Rheumatic Disease Awareness Month
  • Simple Tasks #Rheumchat recap

Our September #RheumChat was a special conversation for Rheumatic Disease Awareness Month (#RDAM). RDAM was created to raise awareness about rheumatic diseases like arthritis, lupus, gout and the 100+ lesser-known diseases.

The 2017 RDAM theme is “You don’t have to be an athlete to have sore joints!” In the #RheumChat, we discussed athletics, injuries, and arthritis.

Q1: How can athletics and other intense exercise impact the joints?
Q2: Isn’t exercise generally good for those with RA, OA and other forms of arthritis?
Q3: What are some tips for preventing arthritis while staying active?
Q4: Are there exercises that are good for the joints that can help prevent injury?
Q5: What are some good rehab tips to help preserve your joints?
Q6: How can you stay active after being diagnosed with arthritis?
Q7: How can a rheumatologist and other health professionals help?

Join us for monthly #RheumChats

We will continue to host a #RheumChat on the third Thursday of every month with a different topic and co-host. Be sure to check the #RheumChat page and our social media channels for future topics, co-hosts, and questions.
