Our December #RheumChat was co-hosted by the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (@NACDDinfo). NACDD works to reduce the impact of chronic diseases on the American population by advocating for preventative policies and programs, encouraging knowledge sharing, and developing partnerships for health promotion. The topic of the chat was myths about rheumatic disease.
Here are a few of the questions that were covered. See the full recap below.
Q1: What were some of the most surprising facts you’ve learned since being diagnosed with a rheumatic disease?
Q2: What are some of the common myths you hear surrounding rheumatic diseases?
Q3: How do you talk with friends and family about your condition?
Q4: What information did you find out on your own that you wish you’d known when first diagnosed?
Q5: What are resources you recommend to people who want to learn more about rheumatic disease?
Q6: How can patients help dispel some of the common myths and misconceptions around rheumatic disease?
